Austria’s Best Bits With The BullsAs we head back to our Austrian home for the season opener we look back at some of the fun we’ve had away from the race.

There’s no doubt the Team knows how to entertain the crowd. We do it on track, and occasionally, off it as well. As we head to the first Formula One race of the 2020 season, being held at our home track of the Red Bull Ring, we look back at some of the best and craziest things we’ve done in and around the Styrian Mountains...
8.DriftingWithSomeTunesOn
When you’re drifting a 700hp car around a track you’re going to want some tunes on, but what sort of musical instrument or genre would you choose? If an accordion is your choice, then you’re in luck! Back in 2017 we wanted to see if an accordion player could bank out a tune whilst hammering around the Red Bull Ring…

Formula One drivers are a competitive bunch, so when Daniel Ricciardo and Max headed to Austria in 2017, they had a chance to face-off over a game of ice hockey. They both had a team, a stick and ice skates, as you can imagine chaos ensued! All over the watchful eye of the referee, Christian Horner.
6.SébastianOgierGoesForABullRide
Now, there’s no doubting that a man like Sébastian Ogier knows how to drive a car. He’s won the World Rally Championship six times in the last seven years. But there’s a huge difference between a rally car and the RB7 – which he found out in 2017. Luckily David Coulthard was on hand to offer some advice.
5.TrackGuideWithADifference
When you think of a Formula One driver analysing the track, you probably think of him hunched over a laptop with his team around him, or pouring over pages of data. And sure, they probably do that, but that’s not what we want to see! So last year Pierre Gasly had a different approach. He was flown over the track by former Red Bull Air Race World Champion Martin Sonka. The Air Race had taken place at the Red Bull Ring for three years, so he was able to make sure Pierre would fly right!

4.SendingItUpTheSchloßberg
When you think of narrow, old, cobbled streets, you wouldn’t think of Max and the RB7 would you? However, last year Max took the Bull up the Schloßberg in Graz – a famous tree-lined hill with a fortress on top, that dates back to the 10th Century. Max was able to let rip and although the visuals are spectacular, the sound of the car powering along, will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
3.DriftBrothersTakeMaxForASpin
Max knows everything about how to get a car around the track in the quickest time possible. So when he jumped in with Joe Hountondji last year, he was in for a unique experience, as Joe drifted around the Red Bull Ring. His task was to interview Max to see how he could answer questions while tyre smoke filled the cockpit. This will be the one and only time you’ll see Max silent!

One of Europe’s fastest and most famous ski courses is in Austria, known as Kitzbühel, is a dramatic course that a lot of professional skiers have come unstuck on, so how does a RB7 cope on the snow? Very well it seems, back in 2016 the Team attempted something that had never been done before. Race an F1 car down the treacherous slope, whilst trying to beat Alpine Ski Racer Aksel Lund Svindal. Take a deep breath, because you’ll be holding it throughout the entire video.

When you’re away with a caravan you expect a quiet and relaxing break, well don’t invite Daniel Ricciardo and Max along, because racers gonna race! And with their mobile homes hitched up to a couple of Aston Martins in 2017, there was nothing else to do, but get on the Red Bull Ring and put the foot to the floor. We don’t think they’ll get much when they try to part exchange their caravans though!
