The Bulls have endured a difficult series so far but there is a sense of optimism in the camp as they head into the race this weekend.
The 500-mile race at Sebring today is a change of pace from the intense sessions at Monza, Spa and Nürburgring, making this the shortest race on the calendar ahead of the grand final on 15 January 2022.
LMP2 driver Dennis Jordan has reflected on the season and given his thoughts ahead of the race today.
He said: “It is fair so say that it has not quite gone the way we would have hoped it would, for both cars.
“We are still lacking some pure speed in the GTE due to the current Balance of Performance and suffered various bad luck in the LMP2 after getting up to competitive pace from a slow start.
“Everyone has been working hard on all ends to improve, but with the competition level in this series, small mistakes can cost a lot. It was very rewarding to see the GTE car finally get the team's first podium last round and gave us all a good boost to continue the upwards trend.”
Nestor Garcia, who will be driving in the GTE category, has also given his view as the team readies for the test at Sebring.
The Spaniard said: “The first three races have been difficult for us. In the last one we were able to get a great second position – with some luck, but in the previous two we had incidents with LMP2 that have meant that we lost a lot of time repairing the car.
“The other decisive factor is the Balance of Performance. We are not satisfied with how things are working in that regard. Despite everything, I think we are working well as a team, always trying to get 100% out of the car and out of the strategy – something fundamental in these races. We will continue to fight with everything we have.
“I think my teammates will agree with me, the goal in any race is always to win. I think the preparation is going very well on the part of the 3 drivers, but it is always difficult to precede how each car adapts to each circuit, and they have also made slight modifications to the BOP. If the car works like in the previous races, the realistic goal is to make the top 5, but as I told you, we expect much more than that.”
The Bull’s newest driver, Cooper Webster will also be making his Red Bull Racing Esports debut today, check out his first interview with the team here.
