Marcel Kiefer and Frede Rasmussen enjoyed a rampant renaissance in Event 2 of the competition, with the pair taking home a clean sweep of wins for Red Bull Racing Esports.
Now, as the drivers prepare for Event 3 of the competition, the Constructors Championship leaders are reflecting on the series so far.
Marcel Kiefer, who is currently fourth in the Driver’s standings on 62 points, said: “This season has had its ups and downs but I feel like we are definitely improving and looking to carry the momentum we gained from Event 2 into Event 3 this week.
“China was a great race for me until the weather made things challenging, but the second event was special – three wins for Red Bull and my win in Monza thanks to some awesome teamwork with Frede has to be my highlight so far.
“Without two slight mistakes in my Silverstone qualifying and having a better setup on tyre wear in Spa it would have been a 1-2 in nearly every race for us. So, if we can carry that momentum over and polish out these small few errors then I‘m sure we are able to improve on our previous performances.”
Danish driver Frede Rasmussen occupies third place in the Driver’s championship on 78 points, having enjoyed two wins in Event 2. He said: “The first event was extremely bad for us, but we made up for it in the second, so I’d say we’ve done OK so far.
“We have been unlucky at times with some weather issues and setup errors on our part but overall, it’s not been a bad first half to the season. We are joint first and will be looking to build on our positive performance in the last event.”
The Bulls’ attention now turns to Event 3 of the competition, with races taking place at Portimão, Zandvoort and the Circuit Of The Americas on Wednesday 24 – Thursday 25 November.
Marcel Kiefer feels the tracks all present challenges but is looking forward to tackling the iconic circuits.
He said: “I think all the tracks in Event 3 are really technical and difficult, so nailing the laps will always feel great on all three tracks. If I would have to choose a favourite though, it might be Zandvoort or COTA but I am really looking forward to it.
“The goal is to win the Constructors title, but personally I’d love to have a shot at the Driver’s title too. We know how good we are and if we put in the work, we will have a good chance at winning again this year. We charge on.”
Frede added: “I really enjoy Zandvoort and can’t wait to get racing again. The goal is to win our third Constructors title in a row and we are focussed on that and keep practicing hard for the next races.”
