Welcome to the Lusail International Circuit for the third ever Qatar Grand Prix, and once again, it promises to be a thrill-ride of a weekend.
Last year was an absolute blast for the Team. They arrived at the circuit as newly crowned Constructors’ Champions and for Max to make it the triple title, all he had to do was outscore Checo by three points. As it was a sprint weekend Max was able to win his third Drivers’ Championship on the Saturday and celebrated in style on Sunday by claiming a Grand Slam victory.
This year’s Qatar Grand Prix is also a Sprint Weekend and the fifth of six-night races for the 2024 season. And Max is returning as a four-time World Champion after taking the spoils at last weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The circuit itself was built in 2004 with MotoGP as its main focus. So, the track is dominated by medium-to-high speed corners. The start/finish straight that is more than 1km long which offers some great overtaking opportunities before the drivers dive into turn one. A lap consists of 16 turns in total (10 right hand, 6 left), and the drivers are expected to be at full throttle for 68% of the lap and make around 36 gear changes per lap.
With it being a Sprint Weekend, you can expect the Bulls out on track as early as possible for the only Free Practice session which begins at 07:30 track time (02:00UTC). Make sure you come back here each day for exclusive reports, pictures, videos and interviews.
