SparcoTechnical Racewear Partner
Performance, safety and Italian design are the three key elements of the success of this Italian multinational company that supplies sportswear and accessories to the best drivers, the most admired supercars and the racing cars which have made motorsport history.
The Group is present in over 90 countries worldwide and employs thousands of people across three continents - Europe, America and Africa - and four headquarters located in Volpiano (Italy). Several initiatives connect SPARCO® to "other worlds": the worldwide renown expertise allows the Volpiano-based company to open up to many other areas, such as SPARCO® Gaming, which marks the debut in e-sports, building on the great experience gained in the development of light-material and comfortable seats, and SPARCO® Teamwork, the collection of shoes inspired by the world of racing.
Innovation is key at Sparco®, which every year succeeds in realising important projects that combine style and technology objectives with high safety standards.
As a result of the continuous research and development, Sparco®, has realized the new Superleggera 2022 with FIA 8856-2018 homologation, which was born as a natural evolution of Sparco's historic Superleggera suit, which in the early 2000s offered a compound compliant with the FIA 8856-2000 standard, with very high performance, and which already graduated as the lightest suit at the time, weighing about 20% less than previous suits.
The Superleggera suit is fully customisable according to the driver's needs and is one of the lightest on the market. It includes an ultra-lightweight zip, concealed by a fireproof cover flap that guarantees the highest level of safety, an ultra-thin collar designed specifically for use in F1, seamless cuffs, extra-thin seams and custom-made stretch panels that ensure the driver's mobility and comfort during the race.
Last but not least is the FORMULA H-10 seat belt, which is the result of Sparco's research and innovation in recent years in the field of safety inside Formula cars. Sparco's R&D technical department has designed each belt component with the aim of reducing weight and size while maintaining the same mechanical performance. This is why the buckle is machined from titanium and aluminium billet; the adjusters are machined from aluminium billet.
After the hardware component, the Sparco R&D clothing department carried out hard research and development work on the fabrics to find the ultra-lightweight belt used in this harness with a specific weight of less than 40gr/m (less than half the specific weight of other belts approved for race use). For these reasons, the FORMULA H-10 is the lightest belt in F1.
