After another three-week gap between races, we are excited to be back at the track and Stateside for the 2024 US Grand Prix.
The Circuit of the Americas has treated the Team well over the years, with it being the track we were crowned Constructors Champions in 2022, and one where Max Verstappen has won the last three races, with Checo finishing in the top four consecutively as well, with a P3 finish in 2021. The track is designed to pull together the best parts of the greatest circuits around the world, and as a result delivers some great action to get stuck into.
Much like last year, this will be another sprint weekend, so there will only be one practice session for the drivers to get dialled in. Saturday’s Sprint Race will consist of 19 laps, whilst Sunday’s Grand Prix will see 56 laps of the circuit.
The track itself has a familiar feel. Designed by Hermann Tilke, along with architectural firm HKS, turns of the Circuit of Americas resemble sections of other legendary racing circuits. Turns three to six mirror the ‘S’ curves at Suzuka as well as the Maggotts/Becketts section at Silverstone. Turns 12-15 look like they’ve been plucked from Hockenheim’s stadium section. But the most thrilling part of the track is the expansive run-up to turn one, which has provided some great overtaking action over the years.
A lap around COTA consists of 20 turns, 11 left handers and 9 right, totalling a length of 5.513km, with the longest straight being 1,090m. During a lap the drivers are expected to make around 66 gear changes and will be at full throttle for 64% of the lap.
The Bulls will hit the track on Friday for the one and only practice session at 12:30 track time (17:30 UTC) before Sprint Qualifying at 16:30 (21:30 UTC), so make sure you come back here for all the latest exclusive news, images and videos from the Team.
